Production house Coolbox starts 2023 with a bang

The Coolbox team

Manchester video content studio Coolbox is off to a strong start to 2023, celebrating solid year-end financials, client wins and new hires.

The company, founded in 2016 by director Marc Grundy, has seen turnover double in the last twelve months, while also filling two new staff positions to service new and existing clients from across the food & beverage, leisure and hospitality sectors.

Coolbox kicked off the year by creating a suite of vibrant social videos for Italian casual dining restaurant group Vapiano to help launch their Spring Specials menu. The team was also commissioned to produce a new series of brand ambassador films for non-alcoholic drinks brand Crossip. The Manchester-based studio was approached by global fitness group Zumba to create engaging video content for their social channels, and is currently in the process of moving into a new studio space.

Grundy said: “2022 was a fantastic year for Coolbox. We worked on some cracking campaigns, with clients across the globe, including Campari, Weber Barbecues, National Grid, ITV and Britvic. We’re in the process of moving into our new studios, which will give us the space we need to grow and provide a more personal, bespoke service to our customers.”

Coolbox’s recent hires include production assistant Jessica Baillie. Since starting with the production company, The University of Salford Master’s Graduate has been assigned to many ongoing video projects, including overseeing Coolbox’s work with The Marple Wharf Project which aims to restore, renovate and bring back into community use a historically significant Grade 2 building and piece of Manchester heritage.

Baillie said: “It’s been a whirlwind since starting with Coolbox, but it’s been really satisfying putting everything I learnt during my Masters course into action, across actual campaigns for some pretty big clients. I can’t wait to see what else this year has in store for the team.”

The Coolbox crew will also be in attendance at the North’s premier showcase of drinks and hospitality, the Northern Restaurant and Bar Exhibition at Manchester Central, where they will be highlighting theor wares in a special ‘pop-up studio’ on the 14-15th March.
