Cheshire office supplies retailer Cartridge People has launched the Memories Through the Lens photography competition as part of its Memories campaign.
The competition will run until August 29, including over World Photography Day on August 15, and aims to encourage budding creatives to showcase their work in physical form.
According to Epson, only two per cent of photos stored on our phones are printed and displayed in our homes, with most of them gathering digital dust on our devices.
Behind every photo is a great story, and printing your own photos is a simple process that can help you cherish your favourite moments even more (and presumably buy ink cartridges too), says Cartridge People.
The firm wants to encourage people to keep physical copies of their treasured memories and find creative ways to display them through the campaign.
Cartridge People is creating a series of content aimed at inspiring people to do more with their photos, from advice on restoring old images, to offering photography tips and how to print from different devices.
“With the summer holidays now in full swing, we wanted to encourage people to find creative ways to store and display their summer memories,” said Nicky Bendall, marketing campaign manager at Cartridge People. “Our campaign hopes to get people to stop living only through their phones and find ways to relive the moments that mean the most to them, whether it’s by creating memory boards, scrapbooks or simply displaying them throughout the house.”
The winner of Cartridge People’s photography competition will receive a Polaroid photography bundle worth £200, as well as the chance to be featured in print in a local magazine, along with on Cartridge People’s blog and social media channels.
Entries will be judged by in-house photographer Ilias Kounenis, who will evaluate entries based on creativity and originality, relevance to the theme, technical quality and the emotional impact of the photos. The winner will be announced officially on September 4 on Cartridge People’s social media channels and website.
To enter, submit your photo that captures the theme Memories Through the Lens on Cartridge People’s website or share your photo on social media, tagging @CartridgePeople and using the hashtag #LensMemories2024. Write a short description to tell Cartridge People the story behind the image and how it fits the theme.
Full terms and conditions can be found on the website.
