Gresham House-backed Telcom, the UK’s largest full fibre and fixed wireless internet network provider, has made two senior appointments, including a new CEO, as it seeks to strengthen its c-suite and board.
Elliott Mueller is appointed as CEO and Steve Best as non-executive director at the Manchester firm, which was recently selected to connect Gary Neville’s St Michael’s development, and also acquired London’s largest fixed wireless network operator Luminet.
Mueller is a well-known and vastly experienced leader in the sector. He previously served as CEO of JT Global, Metronet and Tele2. He brings an excellent track record of creating shareholder value, as well as a deep passion for customer service and delivery to the role.
Mueller said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to lead Telcom. The business has an impressive UK footprint, a strong brand portfolio, a talented team, and an enviable reputation. The company continues its focus on building its solutions for business customers and I am looking forward to working with the team.”
Alongside Mueller, Best also joins the board of Telcom as non-executive director. He has previously served on the boards or held executive leadership roles with major UK telecom companies, including EE and BT and brings a wealth of experience to the board.
He said: “I am delighted to join the board of Telcom at this pivotal moment in its growth trajectory. This is an exciting time for the company as it continues to grow its wholesale and direct routes to market, bringing dedicated internet to businesses across the UK.”
Simon Adcock, head of portfolio & co-fund manager, sustainable infrastructure at Gresham House, added: “We welcome Elliott and Steve to the board of our portfolio company Telcom and look forward to working with them. Telcom is at an exciting stage in its growth journey, having recently acquired Luminet in London, adding to its existing networks covering Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham. The business is well positioned to be the trusted partner for internet connectivity and related services for businesses throughout major cities across the UK.”
