Meanwhile hits winning streak with tombola appointment

tombola, Britain’s biggest bingo site, has appointed creative shop Meanwhile to handle its UK advertising account following a pitch process which was handled in-house.

The Manchester agency saw off competition from several other agencies, including tombola’s incumbent agency.

tombola hosts a number of proprietary bingo games across its website and app, with tickets starting from 1p, and jackpot prizes up to £20,000. Founded in 2006, the market-leading brand is known for building an engaged community and focusing on player safety. It is now looking to refresh its creative approach moving forward to support future business growth.

James Cross, founder and CCO at Meanwhile said: “We’re so eager to get working with the brilliant team at tombola so we can create some truly famous work together, and we are absolutely thrilled to be part of their story moving forward. We found out pretty early into this process that our hopes and ambitions for the business were aligned, so it’s with great excitement that we get to be part of it.”

Dawn-Elizabeth Howe, head of brand and planning at tombola added: “We’re delighted to be working with Meanwhile. They have an abundance of energy and talent that impressed the team at pitch. We look forward to introducing Meanwhile to the tombola brand and collaborating to achieve our ambitious business goals.”

tombola was acquired in 2021 by Flutter, a global sports betting, gaming and entertainment provider, operating some of the world’s most innovative and distinctive brands.
