A number of Liverpool digital firms have headed to Delhi for the India-UK Future Tech festival.

The City Region delegation, led by Asif Hamid MBE, the Chair of Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), is exploring business opportunities with Indian firms and investors as well as attending the UK Government Department for International Trade (DIT) facilitated conference.

The City Region delegation include Paul Corcoran from Agent Marketing, Colin Sinclair from Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, Amanda Follit from Th_nk Live, Lee Omar from Red Ninja, Dave Burrows from Damibu and John Whaling from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Hamid said: “This trade visit is a hugely positive reflection of how the City Region is reasserting itself on the international stage, building on our competitive strengths and key growth sectors.

“This trip has already highlighted the huge future opportunity for our City Region in India and for Asian businesses in and around the Liverpool City Region.

“The calibre of the tech sector executives making up the delegation and the reception they have received from Indian investors, bodes incredibly well in terms of future relations and deal-making.”

The FutureTech Festival starts at the British High Commission today with a tech awards event and reception, followed by meetings, presentations and roundtables on Wednesday involving senior business, trade and government representatives.
