Ricky Wilson is to fill the “indie rock” seat on The Voice, vacated by Danny O’Donoghue.
The singer of Leeds-based Kaiser Chiefs will be lining up alongside new judge Kylie Minogue as well as Tom Jones and will.i.am when the show returns next year.
“Who doesn’t want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue? I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am were total superstars. I’m just lucky the Kaiser Chiefs have rubber stamped my temporary loan!” he said.
The third series will again be recorded at MediaCityUK’s Dock10.
“Being the showman that he is, I think Ricky is the perfect addition to our coaching line-up. I’m incredibly excited about our coaches and presenters and feel sure we’re on track for a fantastic series,” added Moira Ross, head of entertainment at production company, Wall To Wall.
Wilson has previously presented Never Mind The Buzzcocks and T in the Park for the BBC as well as appearing on The Culture Show.
