Johnston Press has put 14 of its properties in the North of England up for sale or rent on its own property website, including the former home of the Sheffield Star and the Pennywell Industrial Estate print works in Sunderland.
It comes as the publisher seeks to reduce debts and cut costs across its titles.
Prolific North has previously reported on the website, which also features the former Yorkshire Post Building in Leeds.
Some of those listed include:
The former Yorkshire Post Building in Leeds;
The Pennywell Industrial Estate print works in Sunderland (£850,000);
Telegraph Building, Sheffield, which used to house the Sheffield Star;
The former home of the Central Lancashire Printers in Wigan;
The Morecambe Visitor offices (£350,000).
It’s part of JP’s “staff working environment charter”, which appears to mean moving out of older offices, usually on high streets and into new ones. Such as the Whitby Gazette’s historical harbour-side base; the Chorley Guardian; and the Burnley Express.
