Introducing Prolific Radar: Help us map the North’s creative, digital and tech sectors

Today, Prolific North launches Prolific Radar, a new benchmark published twice a year to take a real-time pulse of the North’s creative, digital and tech economy.

Rather than relying solely on high-level national figures, Prolific Radar will gather direct insight from the businesses on the ground. To start, we are focusing on three core areas:

  • Creative and marketing agencies
  • Tech start-ups and scale-ups
  • TV, film, audio, and broadcast production companies

Through a brief survey run twice a year, we will track business confidence, hiring plans, investment, client demand, and AI adoption. Over time, this data will build into a reliable benchmark for Northern businesses to gauge their own performance against regional peers, while directly informing Prolific North’s reporting throughout the year.

Explaining why Prolific North is introducing the initiative, Managing Director Alexandra Balazs said: “We talk to founders, agency heads, and creators across the region every single day, so we already have a strong sense of the energy and the friction points out there.

“But Prolific Radar allows us to turn those daily conversations into solid, reliable data. By standardising how we measure confidence, recruitment, and emerging tech like AI twice a year, we can give our community a genuine benchmark for their own growth and give the North’s creative and tech sectors an even stronger voice.”

The inaugural Prolific Radar survey is now live and takes around five minutes to complete.

If you run, lead, or work within a tech, creative, or production business in the North, we want to hear from you!
