Happy Radio has announced two additions to its now-24-hour presenter line up with Fiona Sadler joining to host a new Evening Show from 7-10pm and Alex Roland joining to launch Up All Night with Alex Roland from 1-5am.
The Evening Show’s Sadler joins Happy Radio having worked on radio stations from will be on air Monday to Thursday from 7pm and said: “I’m so excited to be joining Happy Radio, to be joining such a brilliant line up of heritage presenters from Steve Penk and Spence Macdonald to Paul Crone and Darren Proctor; I’m in wonderful company.”
Sadler will be followed onto the mic by existing presenter Andy Hoyle, who will step into the Late Show slot from 10pm to 1am, also Monday to Thursday, before handing over to Roland for the new overnight show.
Worsley native Roland has been a broadcaster for over 30 years having previously presented on Key 103, Metro and Signal. He said: “I’ve always been bit of a nighthawk and broadcasting after 1am takes you into a world of night workers, stay up very laters, or the very early risers after 4am – hence I’m calling my new show Up All Night.
Plus, I’m doing it on a superb platform with Happy Radio going 24/7 for the first time in its short 18 month history”
Happy Radio UK launched in April 2022 and has quickly established itself as one of the fastest growing radio stations in the North West.
Happy Radio was developed by radio presenter and DJ Darren Proctor and festival organiser and entrepreneur Max Eden, and the pair are committed to delivering a “proudly local” radio station for the North West with “presenters we know and love and great music variety.”
The pair added: “We’re thrilled to add two more brilliant broadcasters to our presenter line up, Fiona has a wicked sense of humour and Alex is a fantastic presenter and we’re looking forward to them joining the team.”
Happy Radio is available on DAB across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West, on Freeview TV Channel 277, to stream online, on your Smart Speaker and on the Happy Radio UK App on both iOS and Android. The new schedules launch this week.
