Jaywing PR has worked with Leeds-based charity, Getaway Girls in the build up to its 30th anniversary.

The charity empowers girls and young women between 11 and 25 to build confidence and learn new skills.

Jaywing was appointed to raise its profile and build a news story that focused around the theme of self esteem and social media – which has been an increasing concern for the charity.

“It was fantastic working with Jaywing PR. As a charity supporting young women we focus on making a difference with young women and less on marketing our work,” said Flavia Docherty, Director at Getaway Girls.

“Working with Jaywing PR gave us an opportunity to raise awareness around important issues for young women whilst also promoting and celebrating our work.”

19 national and local influencers were used to promote the campaign, encouraging people to share unfiltered selfies alongside the hashtag #FilteredLives

“We were delighted to support Getaway Girls in driving awareness during its 30th birthday year. The work this charity does is incredibly inspiring, and it has been our pleasure to spread the word and deliver an uplift in brand awareness amongst key stakeholders,” added Kate Dixon, Managing Director of Jaywing PR.

“We hope this now translates into donations to Getaway Girls, so they can continue their wonderful work for many years to come.”
