Actress and radio presenter, Gemma Atkinson, is to host CBeebies’ series, The Toddler Club.

She will present alternate days with Nigel Clarke, who is the face of sister show, The Baby Club.

The pair will be joined by families across the country to encourage parents, carers and their toddlers to spend time together and explore the world around them.

“As a new mum, during the first lockdown I found comfort and reassurance watching programmes such as The Baby Club and The Toddler Club At Home, so for me to now be a host is such an honour,” said Atkinson.

“The show covers so many basics for us as parents and lets us know we’re not alone, every toddler is different and that’s ok. To be presenting a show that helps children develop and lets parents feel we’re all in the same boat is wonderful.”

MediaCityUK-based CBeebies has commissioned 40 x 14 minute episodes of the show, which begins on 4th April.

“We’re thrilled Gemma is joining us for The Toddler Club and becoming part of the family. She brings her own experience of being a mum to the show and is passionate about helping other parents to feel positive and empowered,” stated Kate Morton, Head of BBC Children’s Commissioning & Acquisitions 0-6.

The Toddler Club is produced by Three Arrows Media.
