Fractory appoints Chief Operating Officer

Manchester-headquartered manufacturing tech firm, Fractory, has appointed a new COO.

Lone Jensen is a former computer engineer, who was, until January, COO of Startup Wise Guys – a European B2B early-stage investor.

“Fractory is processing ever larger orders and is seeing bigger organisations coming to rely on its service, so the company structure must be diligently arranged to manage current demand as well as ongoing growth,” explained Jensen.

“Certain things need to be in place in a mature company and Fractory is maturing fast following recent investment and the strategic partnership that comes from it.”

Fractory’s first COO will split her time between its Manchester HQ and Estonia, where it was founded. Jensen will also work out of Finland – Finnish early-stage investor, Kvanted led a £4.2m funding round in the company last month.

“We know we are becoming a bigger company with bigger clients and we need people who have already been there, who have done it before,” said Martin Vares, Fractory CEO and co-founder.

“The COO role is always partly administrative and organisational, but in our case its aim is transformative. It is concerned with handling the expansion already happening and readying us for future expansion.”

Fractory was established in in 2017 in Estonia and has at least doubled its turnover year after year. It employs 70 people.
