Kevin Nagle has completed the full takeover of Football League club, Huddersfield Town.

The CEO and owner of USL team Sacramento Republic Football Club is also an investor in NRG Esports, as well as a founder of tech and healthcare investment firm, Jaguar Ventures.

“I am extremely humbled and excited to be the new steward of Huddersfield Town,” he said.

“I would like to thank Dean Hoyle, Dave Baldwin, the EFL, and FCA for all their help and attention to detail over the past few months.

“A special thanks to the wonderful Town supporters who have also been so supportive and patient. I know how deeply they care for this club, and I do not intend to let them down.

“Now let’s get to work.”

The takeover was confirmed this morning with Nagle holding 100% of the club’s shares after getting approval from the EFL and “other relevant bodies.”

His company, Town FC LLC, took ownership from previous owner, Dean Hoyle.

“Firstly, I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Kevin as the football club’s new custodian. Secondly, I’m so relieved that Kevin is the custodian of a Championship club,” said outgoing owner Dean Hoyle.

“It bodes well that Kevin was prepared to take the reins regardless of divisional status, but to pass the baton as a Championship club gives the new regime solid foundations on which to build.

“From a personal point of view this ends my tenure after 14 years. It has been a privilege to be your Chairman. What a ride! From a mid-table League One team to reaching the Premier League, with many highs and lows in between.

“A special mention and a big thank you to those many fans who have made me and my family welcome over the years and, more importantly, have been supportive when times have been tough, none-more so than the last 18 months after I had to step back in and provide serious financial support to the club.

“Anyway, enough of what’s in the past and now I’m sure, as fans, we can all look forward to an exciting period of progression on the pitch and, as importantly, a continued period of financial stability off the pitch.

“Finally, to all our amazing staff, thank you for the loyalty and hard work you have shown throughout the last 14 years. It’s been a ride!”

Nagle’s business interests include Envision Pharmaceutical Holdings, which he co-founded. It was acquired by the Rite Aid Corporation in 2015 for $2.3 billion.

He’s also the President and owner of real estate development firm, The Nagle Company, Inc and is General Partner of the El Dorado Hills Town Center, said by Greater Sacramento Economic Council to be “one of the most successful developments of its kind in Northern California.”

LA-based NRG Esports had more than 2bn content views in 2022 and has squads for Valorant, Rocket League team, Apex Legends and Overwatch.
