The entry deadline for the fifth Educate North Awards has been extended by one week, giving hopeful institutions and individuals until February 15th to enter.

The awards are among the most anticipated for those within university, higher and further education, and this year will be held at the prestigious Hilton Hotel on Deansgate in Manchester on April 25th.

In 2018, The University of Hull, Leeds Beckett, University of Manchester, University of Chester, University of Bradford and University of Central Lancashire went home with an award, while the University of Newcastle was chosen as University of the Year. Jim Keaton MBE of Liverpool Hope University won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Educational institutions from across the region focus strongly on these awards each year, hoping to lead the way among the host of world-class colleges and universities in the North.

Following on from last year’s record number of entries, hopes are high for an equally successful 2019 event. Former BBC and Granada Political Editor, Jim Hancock, will present the Awards for the second year.

Judges hail from academic, business and public sector spheres, and are based across the country. Awards Patron is John Kennedy CBE, while the key advisors are Professor Sir Cary Cooper, Professor Phil Harris, and Nik Miller of The Bridge Group.

The Educate North Awards are delivered by Don’t Panic Events and hosted by RM Communications, with Prolific North as media partner. Communicorp UK is official radio partner, alongside advertising and marketing specialists Ministry of Results.
