A Manchester-based entertainment company has secured £200k of angel investment from Photolink founder, David Walter.
It gives Vistavenus, a brand likened to “Disney meets musical Minions”, a pre-market valuation of more than £4m.
The founders of Vistavenus (VV) say they’ve been developing the operation for the last 7 years behind closed doors and are aiming to take on Disney and Marvel with their “groundbreaking alternative universe – with love at its core.”
VV is aimed at 15-25 year-olds and its world currently has 200 characters, with ready-made assets, including designs, bios, series & feature film scripts, gaming strategies and collectibles for ecommerce.
The fictional characters and storylines have been designed to “bridge the gap between fantasy and reality,” but as well as entertaining, they also raise awareness of real-life experiences.
Its new music show, Jammin’ Genres, stars an animated 48-piece covers band called ‘The Ventricles’, and has attracted over 2.5 million views with its first two episodes.
