Joe Pearlman, the director of Bafta-nominated Bros documentary, After The Screaming Stops, is taking the helm of a new Sir Matt Busby film.

It’s being made by Fulwell 73, the indie behind The Class of ’92 and Sunderland Till I Die.

The new film will be based around previously unseen archive footage and interviews, with those who knew him well – including the surviving Busby Babes and some of the Class of ’92.

It’s being distributed by Altitude Films and is expected to have a UK release in November.

Pearlman is a partner of Fulwell 73, alongside Ben and Gabe Turner and Ben Winston. James Corden is a co-owner and the indie also produces his US series, The Late Late Show and is co-producing the latest Gavin & Stacey special.

Pearlman, who’s previously directed documentaries on Diego Maradona and Mo Farah said he was “extremely excited” to be working on this “incredible story.”
