Blue Peter has teamed up with Academy Award-winning animation studio Aardman to offer one viewer the chance to see his or her Prehistoric creation brought to life.

The Awesome Animation competition launches tomorrow and asks viewers to design their own Prehistoric creature inspired by Nick Park’s new film Early Man, released in UK cinemas on January 26 2018.

Entrants must send in an A4 page drawing of their design with a paragraph describing their creation. The winner will visit Aardman to see their creation brought to life by the expert team in Bristol and receive tickets to the premiere of the film, when they will be in with a chance of meeting the stars which include Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston.

Judging will have three age categories: age 6-8, age 9-11 and age 12-15. A top entry from each category will be selected before an overall winner is chosen.

Ewan Vinnicombe, Blue Peter Editor says: “Blue Peter competitions continue to receive thousands of entries and give our viewers incredible experiences and money can’t buy prizes. Awesome Animation will offer one lucky winner the unique opportunity to have their design brought to life by one of the world’s leading animation companies and we are so excited to see what children all over the UK come up with.”

Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, Director of Early Man and Gold Blue Peter badge holder, says: “With animation you can make anything come to life, so get involved in this amazing competition and see where your imagination takes you.”
