PrintThe Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium has appointed BJL to kick-start an integrated campaign targeting prospective adoptive families across the region.

The consortium, led by Doncaster Council, is one of many across the UK which has been awarded Government funding to increase the numbers of people with an interest in adopting.

Recruiting for agencies to run campaigns is also going on across the north west.

Tasked with raising awareness of the viability of adoption for people from all walks of life, the campaign from the Manchester agency aims to  dispel the  untruths which can put  people off entering, or  seeing through, the adoption process.

BJL group account director, Rebecca Hardy, said: “This is such a rewarding campaign to be given the opportunity to work on, helping to change the lives of parents and children who stand to benefit immeasurably over the years as a result of this activity.

“By helping people  to  understand  how  rich and  varied  family  life  in modern  day  Britain  is, we’re hopeful that more and more people in Yorkshire and Humber and beyond will consider the life changing virtues of adoption as a fantastic way to start or grow their family.”

The brief was won following a competitive four way pitch, and is anchored in BJL’s new brand Being Family –  which  for  the  first  time  will  bring  together  all  adoption  agencies  across  Yorkshire  and Humber under one umbrella.

Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium, Nic Haughton said they were ‘bowled  over  by  their enthusiasm and  passion  for  this  project.’

“We’re very much looking forward to working with them for the benefit of families across Yorkshire & Humber,” he added.
