BBC presenter Ben Brown was slapped live on air in Bradford after appearing to touch a woman’s breast when she interrupted an interview.

Brown was mid-interview with assistant political editor Norman Smith on the BBC News Channel when the passer-by stepped into shot.

She looked into the camera, said “absolutely fantastic” and gave a thumbs up. Brown reached out to push the woman away and his hand landed in an unfortunate spot.

The woman slapped his arm before walking away.

Brown later tweeted: “Unfortunate interruption of broadcast in Bradford – just tried to minimise disruption but v tricky live on air – completely unintentional.”

The BBC would not confirm if there had been any complaints against Brown but said no further action would be taken against him as it was “clearly an accident”.
