The BBC has completed the tender process to produce CBeebies Specials from 2027.
The two year contract has been retained by BBC Studios.
It means the commercial arm of the BBC will produce live theatrical events including theatre, pantomime, and classical music. Recent Specials include CBeebies Prom Wildlife Jamboree and CBeebies Panto Beauty and the Beast.

“CBeebies Specials bring all the magic and warmth of CBeebies shows in high-impact live experiences that delight little ones and their families whether at the performance or watching on screen,” said Kate Morton, CBeebies’ Senior Head of Commissioning for BBC Children’s and Education.
“This was a highly competitive bidding process and we would like to commend all the shortlisted producers for the high quality and comprehensive bids they put forward.”
A number of high profile BBC returning shows have been put out to tender as part of the corporation’s “contestability requirements.” This meant that more titles would be available to independent producers.
The BBC launched the tender process in February, with BBC Studios’ bid scoring highest against the published criteria.
