Former Pets at Home boss joins AO

AO Business has signed a new public sector supply agreement

Online electrical retailer, AO World, has confirmed that Peter Pritchard will be joining its board.

Pritchard will be an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Greater Manchester group.

He joins from Pets at Home, where he was Chief Executive until last summer.

Prior to that he held senior roles at Wilko, Asda, Sainsbury’s and M&S.

Based in Wilmslow, he is is also Chairman of Agrifarma S.p.A. and a Non Executive Director of Motability Operations Group.

“We are delighted to welcome Peter as a Non-Executive Director. We set out to appoint an individual with suitable experience to continue to develop the Board’s skill set and Peter brings with him a strong mix of knowledge of consumer-focused businesses, as well as experience of transforming businesses,” said Geoff Cooper, Chairman of AO.

Pritchard arrives as AO faces “one of the most challenging operating environments we’ve weathered as a company” according to Founder and CEO, John Roberts.

He made the comments last month as it reported a drop in revenue in profits.

The group stated that it would be “realigning” its business as it undertook a “strategic pivot to focus on cash and profit generation.”

Pritchard takes up the position in October.
