Andy Atha has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of AnonyMind, the Manchester-based provider of online gambling therapy services.

Joining from Push Doctor, Atha also has experience of the gaming industry having served as Safer Gambling Lead at Sky Betting & Gaming.

The tech firm, which was founded in 2020, offers users direct access to self-help support and connection with a team of therapists, along with clinic-based treatment through Leon House Private Clinic, AnonyMind’s parent company.

It aims to support people nationwide with mental healthcare, helping those managing gambling addiction get the support they need in their own home, and in 2021 won the Tech for Good Award at the Prolific North Champions Awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy Atha said: “I genuinely believe in what this Prolific North Champions Tech for Good Award-winner is doing. There is a huge need for easy access to effective treatment giving people the skills and support they need to cope with their issues.

“AnonyMind have built their processes and capacity and they have now reached a point where I have a real opportunity as the new COO to help increase awareness and funding for its innovative and potentially life-saving problem gambling and mental health treatment. I’m leading from the front and can’t wait to meet a long list of existing and new healthcare contacts to discuss their pain points and our ability to solve them with our treatment solutions.”

Andy Iddon, Co-founder of AnonyMind, added: “Andy will make a perfect captain for our ship. He has an outstanding combination of operational leadership in healthtech, and gambling industry experience for AnonyMind.

“His insight will help us achieve our mission of supporting as many people as possible in overcoming gambling addiction and poor mental health, especially when the NHS is under so much pressure.”
