Rachel Gladwin has been promoted from head of the North and Midlands to Managing Director for England and Wales by integrated communications agency Beattie.

In the newly-created role, Gladwin (above, centre) will be responsible for Beattie’s HQ in London following the departure of Jacquie Boyd-Coleman, who resigned from the agency last month to pursue new interests.

She will also look after business hubs in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, and expansion into Wales. Gladwin took on the role of MD of the North and Midlands last September and was based in Leeds.

Meanwhile, Joanne Spence has been appointed MD for Scotland and Digital.

CEO Laurna Woods said: “I wish Jacquie all the best for the future and couldn’t ask for two more enterprising and inspirational people than Rachel and Joanne to drive things forward.

“Joanne has been our Scottish MD for many years and I look forward to her helping our content and digital teams to even more success.

Gladwin, who joined Beattie seven years ago, added: “I’m delighted to accept the new role and I look forward to working with Laurna, Joanne and our people across the country to deliver even more success for Beattie Communications.”

The agency’s clients include Specsavers, La Redoute and Tesco and it has 16 offices in Britain, Ireland and Canada.
