20+ new tech jobs to keep Greggs digital transformation cooking

Greggs has announced further investment in its digital transformation journey, leading to the creation of more than 20 new roles at its Quorum Business Park, Newcastle, HQ.

The North East business, founded in 1939 by John Gregg, has grown to be something of a national obsession and one of the UK’s leading food-on-the-go retailers with around 2,300 stores across the UK – a number that it intends to keep increasing.

As part of its expansion, the business is investing in cutting-edge technology to help redefine the way it connects with its customers. The ongoing digital transformation will see investment in all areas of the business, including the Greggs App, website, shop systems and supply chain.

In recent years, Greggs has significantly grown its internal development team and has moved from a heavily outsourced to insourced model. As well as delivering value adding projects, the in-house team are being recognised for their innovative work – including recently winning The Prolific Northern Tech Awards In-House Tech Team of the Year Award.

The new specialist roles encompass a range of disciplines within the tech and innovation space, including .NET developers, Flutter developers, front end web developers, agile delivery leads, DevOps engineers and testers, all of which can be found on the careers page of Greggs’ website.

Perhaps significantly for anyone looking for a new ‘roll,’ Greggs staff get a 50% discount on the company’s products.
