London-based communications agency Forty Shillings has appointed former BBC journalist Richard Clein as an Associate Director, to head up its activities in the North.

Clein, who is based in Liverpool and will be working remotely for the agency, has previously worked at BBC Radio Merseyside with more than 20 years of experience in communications.

In his new role, he will work with existing clients and seek to raise the profile of the agency, alongside looking at new opportunities to grow the business across the North.

The agency, based in South West London, has experience in property, planning and regeneration with clients including Network Rail and Kier, Barratt and Berkeley.

Wyn Evans, Managing Director said: “Richard has a wide range of media and political contacts and an in-depth understanding of what makes the region tick.

“He joins a team of trusted advisers helping clients engage with the people who matter and influence decisions that impact their business.”

Richard Clein (pictured) added: “With Forty Shillings record of delivering for its clients in the South East, it makes perfect sense for the company to look at opportunities and networks beyond the M25.

“Many of the agency’s successes have been with clients who also have projects in other parts of the country and I’m looking forward to bringing the expertise of the Forty Shillings team up North.”
