Skylab Emirates Old Trafford Holding PageLancashire County Cricket Club has appointed Manchester’s Skylab to help rebrand its historic ground.

It comes following the 10 year naming rights deal that the club signed with Emirates in February and coincides with the Ashes returning to Manchester this week.

Skylab’s first task will be to focus on a new website for the venue side of the business, which includes The Point conference venue. The site will go live later this year, while a holding page has gone up to take advantage of the extra publicity brought by the Ashes.

“Skylab’s passion, level of detail and enthusiasm in creating our new digital platform clearly shone through what was a competitive tendering process,” explained Daniel Gidney, chief executive of Lancashire County Cricket Club.

“We are delighted with their appointment and look forward to a close and productive working relationship during what is a crucial and exciting time at Emirates Old Trafford.”

Nigel Collier, the managing director of Skylab said this, along with other wins meant the agency was now recruiting developers.

“It’s a privilege to be working with such a historic club. Skylab was selected due to our strong blend of innovation, creative and technical skills, married with our unashamedly commercial approach to helping clients generate new revenue online.”
