Dragons’ Den-featured pet food brand makes new agency appointment

Manchester-based Brand communications agency Scoop has been appointed to lead the communications strategy for fast-growing, UK-made dog food brand, Pure Pet Food.

The appointment will see Scoop cement Pure Pet Food as industry experts, raising brand profile, educating consumers on the dried dog food category, and ultimately encouraging UK pet parents to “reconsider what goes into their dog’s bowl,” through a creative press office encompassing national and regional media.

Founded in 2012 on the premise that pets deserve the same high-quality nutrition as humans, Pure Pet Food has evolved from a kitchen-table startup into a major industry player. After capturing national attention in 2014 on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, where the co-founders turned down multiple investment offers to retain control of their vision, Pure Pet Food remains dedicated to its founding mission: helping pets live happier, healthier, and longer lives through better nutrition.

The appointment further strengthens Scoop’s growing portfolio of ambitious D2C and e-commerce brands as the agency continues to help businesses launch, grow and drive commercial success through integrated brand communications.

The partnership will look to grow Pure Pet Food’s brand awareness and credibility with dog owners across the UK, driving forward gentle dried dog food as an option for nutritious, safe and healthy dog food. It aims to build broader brand trust and reassure owners about the concerns that come with switching dog food.

Kara Doyle, client services director at Scoop, said: “Pure Pet Food has been quietly revolutionising dog nutrition since 2012, and we are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with them for the next stage of their journey. There’s a huge opportunity right now to educate consumers on the Pure Pet Food product in a way that helps people to understand how to help their dog live a long and healthy life.

“As a team of dog lovers and owners ourselves, this is a brand we can’t wait to get stuck into. We’re ready to challenge how people view pet food, driving real noise nationwide and making sure Pure Pet Food is recognised as the gold standard in dog nutrition.”

Bex Holt, senior brand lead at Pure Pet Food, said: “Scoop instantly got what we’re trying to achieve, and who we want to talk to, and their team’s expertise showed us how much further we can take the brand. We’re looking forward to working together to bring Pure Pet Food to a wider audience and encourage even more dog owners to rethink what goes into their pet’s bowl.”

Founded on a specialism in hospitality, Scoop now partners with brands across the leisure, property and product sectorsincluding Mission Mars, 200 Degrees Coffee, Museum of Illusions, Bigger Boat Hospitality, Maki & Ramen and Professionals at Play.
