Firecrest celebrates Scotland’s Golden Coast

Firecrest Films is producing a new series to celebrate Scotland’s unsung east coast.

The Glasgow production company has filmed from Moray Firth down to Eyemouth by the English Border for the lifestyle series, Scotland’s Golden Coast.

The shoot took place during the summer season and follows the people who live and work along the coastline.

“As a proud Scot, I am delighted for viewers to discover Scotland’s Golden Coast, celebrating the landscapes, people, and culture of one of Scotland’s most beautiful and vibrant regions,” said Channel 4’s Deborah Dunnett.

“While we’ve named it for its sandy beaches, the series reveals so much more for viewers to see through the eyes of the lucky souls who call these places home.”

The 10 x 60 minute series for More4 takes in the ancient woodlands and shifting dune forests of Tentsmuir, where the North Sea continues to add to the shoreline, to the puffin colonies of the Isle of May National Nature Reserve and the dolphin-rich waters of the Moray Firth.

It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Deborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor, Lifestyle, with Jo Street, Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions & Head of Lifestyle.

The Series Producer is Jane Handa and Production Manager Clare Fraser.

Firecrest Films was acquired by Channel 4 last year, its first through the Creative Investment Fund.
