Leith highlights ‘huge’ team impact of Prolific North Creative Awards win

Winning a Prolific North Creative Award can have a lasting impact on the teams behind the work – something Leith has reflected on after picking up the Advertising Campaign (Medium) prize last year for its Irn-Bru Euros campaign.

Leith’s win is being highlighted as an example of how recognition matters both internally and across the wider industry.

For Leith, the campaign itself was rooted in a deep understanding of the Irn-Bru brand, built up over years of working closely with it.

“The Bru Euros campaign epitomised the historical and in-depth knowledge Leith has of the Irn Bru brand,” Neil Williams, head of production at Leith said. “Our creative teams understand the product, its customers and most importantly the tone of voice. This understanding runs through every creative and has lead to fantastic campaigns spanning decades.”

That clarity translated into a campaign that stood out during the Euros, using humour and high production values to connect with audiences and judges alike.

“I think the bold use of humour in this campaign really makes it stand out and resonate with the audience,” Neil said. “This along with high production values from the Leith Studios team, and great vision from our director Seb Cardinal to ensure that we pushed the creative as far as it could go.”

But beyond the creative itself, Neil says the recognition carried real weight for the people behind it. “Recognition for the hard work and long hours put into a campaign is always very rewarding,” he said. “It means a heck of a lot to everyone involved.”

That sense of validation – particularly in an industry where campaigns can take months of development and collaboration – is a key part of what the Prolific North Creative Awards aim to reflect.

Williams also points to the wider value of entering, not just for individual agencies but for the visibility of work across the North and Scotland.

“I would absolutely recommend other agencies enter their work,” he said. “It’s great for the industry to see other agencies work and to celebrate the talent and accomplishments of the north.”
