Free game showcase opportunities and comps for recently laid-off workers as Liv Game Summit returns for 2026

Liv Games Network has announced that its flagship event, Liv Game Summit, will return on 11th June 2026 at BoxPark Liverpool.

Returning for its second year, the Summit promises a high-quality, accessible event for the UK games industry bringing together developers, studios, service providers, and partners for a full day of connection, learning, and business growth in the heart of Liverpool’s creative Baltic Triangle.

Liv Games Network is building on this momentum of the 2025 debut, with long-term plans to grow the event into a cornerstone of the UK games industry calendar.

“Liv Game Summit represents a modern, energetic event that’s designed to provide value for the different needs of the industry,” said Founder Marek Smagala. “It will grow and adapt year-on-year, ensuring it continues to provide genuine value to the people and businesses it serves. The North-West’s rich games heritage also deserves more industry events of real significance, and we’re proud to be building one with Liv Game Summit.”

The 2026 edition also acknowledges the significant challenges facing the games industry. Following a period of widespread layoffs and market uncertainty, the summit will include panel discussions focused on the current state of the industry and practical paths forward.

As part of this commitment, Liv Games Network is setting aside 15 complimentary tickets for recently laid-off professionals who wish to remain connected to the industry.

“It’s important we don’t present a rose-tinted view of the industry and make out like everything’s ok when it isn’t right now” Smagala added. “We’re a network at our core, and we hope this initiative helps people stay connected, supported, and visible during a difficult time.”

The 2026 programme already features a number of high-profile contributors, including talks delivered by representatives from Unity, and studios Wushu and Radical Forge. The event’s headline session will see BAFTA- and GRAMMY-nominated composer Richard Jacques (Guardians of the Galaxy, James Bond 007: Blood Stone, Little Big Planet 2) take part in a fireside chat reflecting on his career across games, the craft of game development, and a discussion around the wider industry.

Alongside talks and panels and some lightly guided networking sessions, Liv Game Summit will once again host portfolio sessions delivered by industry experts, and an Indie Games Showcase, offering six independent development teams the opportunity to exhibit their games completely free of charge.

“Supporting games talent is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Smagala. “The showcase zone gives standout indie teams direct exposure to industry professionals, and we’re excited to bring it back in 2026.”

Tickets go on sale today (11th February.) Further announcements, including additional speakers and programme details, will continue to be announced in the lead up to the main event on 11th June.
