Yorkshire SaaS firm gets into gardening

Huddersfield-based Software as a Service (SaaS) business, Adventoris, has developed and launched a B2B sales app for UK plant nursery, The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, its first client in the plant and garden sector.

The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, based in Worcestershire, specialises in growing and supplying ornamental plants to garden centres across the UK.

The highly configurable app, created on Adventoris’ flagship SwiftCloud platform, allows Bransford Webbs’ customers – garden centres across the UK – to place orders 24/7, browse products, contact the company and access technical information at their convenience. The new, fully branded, configurable platform replaces Bransford Webb’s previous outdated web shop. The platform is also fully integrated with Bransford Webbs’ Enterprise Resource Planning system, allowing for a seamless transition.

David Chilvers, sales and marketing director at The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, (left) said: “Garden centres are not awash with computers, so our customers often had to make physical notes of stock they wished to order and take themselves away from the shop floor to either phone the order through or log onto a computer. This can be time-consuming and a barrier to ordering.

“Customer access to stock information and the ability to use push notifications through the app to highlight special offers has been the biggest success. It gives our customers total control over their stock availability.

“The sheer flexibility of being able to check availability of stock, see what customers have pre-booked and confirm the orders all from the palm of their hand has reduced the opportunity to push back on orders, and has had the most positive effect on the customer.

“SwiftCloud, understood our business and working methods from the start, adapting features within the app to work for a wholesale nursery where we have one or two quirky ways of working.”

James Clarkson, CEO and founder of Adventoris (right), added: “We are delighted to have supported The Bransford Webbs Plant Company in their digitisation journey, helping the team to increase efficiency, speed and attractiveness of ordering.

“The wholesale plants industry can have its challenges with ordering, with many customers not having the infrastructure to do so with ease. Implementing SwiftCloud has allowed us to transform Bransford Webbs’ processes by allowing customers to have all the information they need in the palm of their hands.”

Adventoris was founded in 2012 by James Clarkson and today houses a team of 50 from its HQ in Huddersfield, looking after 227 clients, including household names such as Pepsi Co., STAEDTLER and AG BARR.
