New partnership promises world’s “biggest online rugby union media network”

The world’s “biggest online rugby union media network” has been created following a new partnership between Planet Sport and Ruck.co.uk.

The pair have forged a new partnership which means that brands and advertisers can now reach an addressable audience of 8m rugby union fans each month through the combined marketing power of Ruck and Planet Sport’s rugby title, Planet Rugby.

Planet Sport, owner of Planet Rugby, has won the rights to represent Ruck’s advertising inventory, packaging up the UK’s two leading specialist rugby news brands for the first time.

Planet Sport’s Monetise Hub solution will provide Ruck with a bespoke advertising technology stack and audience monetisation solutions to help Ruck capitalise on its global audience of rugby union fans.

George Odysseos, chief commercial officer at Planet Sport, said: “Through regularly engaging with the rugby community on a global scale, we’ve long been fans of Ruck’s multimedia rugby union coverage, and as a leading sports publisher ourselves, there’s a natural alignment between us.

“With the current British & Irish Lions tour set to lead us into a landmark autumn season, we’re hugely excited to join forces to increase Ruck’s programmatic and direct sales revenues, and work towards the common goal of engaging the world’s largest rugby audience.”

Mike Martin, commercial director at Ruck, added: “Our partnership with Planet Sport will be a game-changing experience for our business. We’ve already seen a significantly smoother and more optimised overall ad experience across the site, but most importantly, a genuine collaborative approach from one premium publisher to another.

“We look forward to working with the Planet Sport team to build out a world-leading rugby proposition.”

Planet Sport is dedicated to “creating innovative, engaging, multi-platform sports content and advertising experiences for fans seeking the latest, quality, trusted sports information.”

The company’s owned and operated network includes PlanetF1.com, Planet Football, Planet Rugby, Football365, Tennis365, Sport365 TEAMtalk, Love Rugby League, and more. It reaches more than 25 million sports fans globally across web, mobile, app, MSN, Apple News and millions more across social media platforms.
