Ahead of the Women’s Euros, a new football comedy is starting on CBeebies and the iPlayer.
Football Fantastics is filmed in Yorkshire and features 6 children who come together every weekend for their local football group.
“With Football Fantastics, we wanted to capture the sheer joy of the game – the laughter, the friendships, the unforgettable moments that happen both on and off the pitch in kids football clubs for both them and their parents,” explained Sam Talbot, Creator of Football Fantastic.
“It’s a love letter to grassroots football and the amazing kids who turn up each week just for the fun of it. We’re thrilled to have legends like Jill Scott and the Lionesses bring their magic to the show. It’s all about inspiring the next generation while having a blast along the way.”
Produced by Strike, the team behind Jamie Johnson FC, it will feature Jill Scott, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Fran Kirby, Beth Mead, a cameo from England’s Olly Watkins and former Millwall and Leyton Orient player Charlotte Lynch in her acting debut.

“It was a pleasure to be involved in such an exciting, funny and important show. The kids are so talented and inspiring for anyone involved in the game at any level, especially with a female coach!” said Scott.
Kate Morton, Senior Head of Commissioning, CBeebies added:
“Football Fantastics is a great way to kick off the BBC’s Summer of Sport for our youngest audiences. It’s a joyful series packed with energy, fun, teamwork, friendship and resilience, encouraging little ones to get involved. Inspiring young audiences to have fun and learn through play is something we’re passionate about at CBeebies so it feels like the perfect way to mark what is set to be an exciting summer for sport!”
Football Fantastics will debut on Saturday 5 July 2025.
