Key 103’s Chelsea Norris joins radio rival

BBC Radio Manchester has confirmed that Chelsea Norris will be presenting a new Saturday show on the station.

The ex-Key 103 breakfast co-host will be teaming up with a former rival, joining Radio Manchester breakfast show presenter, Phil Trow.

“When we first met we talked like we’d known each other 20 years and so will have loads to chat about. Saturday morning is all about a good catch up with our listeners and, like me, Chelsea loves to hear what’s happening in Greater Manchester,” he said.

Norris announced that she was leaving Key 103 in July. One half of the Mike and Chelsea In The Morning show, she had worked there for 11 years.

“I jumped at the chance to join the BBC to be a part of Radio Manchester. It’s a well-respected station and I can’t wait to get on air with Phil and chat to the listeners,” she said.

The pair will be on air between 9am and 12pm and replace Becky Want, who’s decided to step back from her weekend show, but will continue to work on weekday afternoons.

“I’m really pleased Chelsea is joining Radio Manchester. For more than a decade, she’s been waking listeners up with her warmth and wit,” added Kate Squire, managing editor of BBC Radio Manchester.

“It’s ironic that she’ll be working with Phil Trow as they used to go head-to-head over the airwaves. I think they will make a great on air partnership.”

The programme will start on Saturday September 3 and broadcast throughout September.
