More details have been revealed about Boy Meets Girl, the BBC’s first transgender sitcom.
Made by Tiger Aspect Productions for BBC Two, the sitcom is created by Elliott Kerrigan and written by Kerrigan, Simon Carlyle and Andrew Mettam.
It was commissioned after a BBC talent search through the BBC Writers Room and a successful pilot at the BBC Salford Sitcom Showcase in March 2014.
The cast will include Harry Hepple (Misfits, Hustle), Rebecca Root (Normal) and Denise Welch (Waterloo Road, Benidorm) who plays Pam, Leo’s mother, as well as Janine Duvitski (Benidorm), Nigel Betts (Emmerdale), Lizzie Roper (Hollyoaks) and Jonny Dixon (Coronation Street).

Filming is taking place in and around Manchester and on location in the North East.
