A global designer and manufacturer of contract fabrics has launched an ecommerce platform as part of its 5-year digital and tech transformation.

Yorkshire-based Camira has introduced the 24/7 ordering process across Europe and says it has generated more than 500 new customers and automated 50% of sample orders – saving “more than 300 hours” of administrative time.

“Our new e-commerce capability is the first step in our plans to drastically improve the customer experience,” explained Group Digital Marketing Manager, Sam Birkhead.

“It provides unrivalled benefits to both new and existing trade customers in the UK and Europe, who are now able to purchase fabrics 24 hours a week, seven days a week. It also offers customers the ability to make instant stock checks and view lead times instantaneously.”

Camira Trade is fully integrated with its internal resource planning systems and the website’s backend infrastructure,

“Camira Trade customers are now able to browse and purchase more than 1,500 colour choices in Camira’s product portfolio, including acoustic textiles which we’ve seen perform exceptionally well since launching our ecommerce capability,” continued Birkhead.

“Not only does Camira Trade offer more purchasing options for our UK and European customers, but it also saves a significant amount of time for the customer service team, allowing them to concentrate fully on providing excellent levels of customer support.”

Camira has manufacturing facilities in the UK and Lithuania, offices and showrooms in Europe, North America, Australia and China.
