United Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world, will be Wrexham AFC’s new shirt sponsor.
It’s another sign of the global appeal of the League 2 club, which only a few years ago had Ifor Williams Trailers and Glyndwr University on their shirt fronts.
Since the arrival of Hollywood owners, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, they’ve been backed by TikTok, Expedia, Aviation Gin (owned by Reynolds) and Betty Buzz (owned by Blake Lively) – as well as retaining a link to local brands.
The duo teased the sponsorship yesterday morning, with a cryptic “Wrexham United” tweet – nothing like the threat of a rebrand to keep faithful fans on their toes..

“We seek out sponsors that match the spirit of both Wrexham Association Football Club and the people of Wrexham,” said the co-chairmen of today’s deal.
“We could think of no better sponsor for the next phase of our quest than United Airlines. The team, town and fans around the world are united as never before and United Airlines is committed to elevating our story and journey.”
The United Airlines logo will appear on the men’s and women’s home, away and third shirts.
