Two events are being held later this month to develop the production infrastructure across the North of England.
The aim is to being together regional heads of department and senior crew working in television drama and features, plus Northern-based drama and feature production companies, studios, broadcasters and facilities houses.
Hosted by Creative England and run in partnership with the Production Guild, they are hoping to highlight the skilled talent that already exists here.
“We have a world-class production industry in the English regions that produces some incredible content – in the last two years our team has helped to facilitate £171million of on-location filming and created over 10,000 individual days of work for freelance crew,” said Kaye Elliott, head of production services at Creative England.
“The Connect events in both Manchester and Yorkshire will help industry in the regions to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones, learn from fellow experts in the field and ensure that production in both areas continues to thrive.”
According to the organisation’s own figures, its production services team in Greater Manchester has helped to generate £8m for the region’s economy, while in Yorkshire, that figure is £10m.
Northwest Connect takes place at MediaCityUK on 17th February, from 18.30.
Yorkshire Connect is on the 26th February at Prime Studios in Leeds, from 18.30.
