SHIFT Commerce trio launch retail commerce agency

Shane Quigley, the CEO of SHIFT Commerce and cofounder of Epiphany is behind a new Leeds retail commerce agency, ALCMY.

Quigley will be working with co-founders, Pete Gould, former Retail and Ecommerce Director at SHIFT Commerce and Rich Terry, who was Customer Success Director at the business.

Based in Leeds, the ALCMY team said they would partner with retail brands to provide “a fully outsourced ecommerce solution, bringing a wealth of experience at a fraction of the cost of building in-house teams or using channel-focused agencies.”

“We offer the sweet spot of having been there and done that on both client and agency side,” said Terry, who’ll be running the company day-to-day with Gould.

“The benefits this brings to clients are significant as we maximise their goals with our rich and varied expertise. We are proudly channel-agnostic, and believe in driving performance by creating a bespoke ecommerce ecosystem that’s client, not channel, led.”

They are targeting 3 types of partner: wholesalers looking to open up their revenues by taking a direct-to-consumer approach; owner-run companies looking to scale; and brands with offline heritage wishing to conquer the ecommerce market.

“We’ve all worked in big agencies and know that our best work happens when we work as part of a small, specialised team that can truly live and breathe the goals of our partners,” added Gould, who’s also been CMO at MatalanDirect and Ecommerce Director for Nicole Farhi.

“Rather than the dated customer-supplier model, we form true partnerships with our clients by aligning our ambitions, from our shared vision and values to performance-based arrangements, which see a percentage of our fees based on successful commercial outcomes.”

ALCMY has already worked with Steptronic Footwear and has a long-term relationship with The Open Golf Championship to manage its site, marketing and trading.
