A company whose marketing technology is used by restaurant groups including Leon and Turtle Bay has secured a £500,000 investment from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance, which is managed by Mercia and is part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

Sheffield-based Airship Services will use the funding to further develop its customer relationship and marketing platforms and create eight new jobs.

The company’s first product, Airship, brings together data to help operators better understand their customers and their visiting habits.

It’s used by over 50 customers in more than 600 locations including brands such as Leon, Turtle Bay, Revolution, Hydes Brewery, Wells & Co and The Alchemist.

Toggle, the company’s second product, allows hospitality companies to sell and manage gift cards and experiences. Having launched a year ago it is now live in over 350 locations, generating over £50,000 a week for its customers.

Airship was founded in 2002 by Dan Brookman, who has over 30 years’ experience in hospitality, and technology specialist Rob Marcer.

“Both our platforms have enjoyed a surge in new customers and after the success of Airship, Toggle is being well received in the market,” said Brookman.

“We are delighted with this investment and are looking forward to building on the growth of the past year.”
