Philip Glenister to star in new series of Prey

ITV has confirmed that Red Production Company’s Prey will return for a second series.

It will be filmed in the North West and stars Philip Glenister and Rosie Cavaliero, who reprises her role as DS Susan Reinhardt.

Glenister will take on the role of prison officer, David Murdoch, who’s life becomes complicated when on a routine visit to a Manchester hospital with a female prisoner, “events spiral out of control.”

It will be written by its creator Chris Lunt, directed by Lewis Arnold (Banana, Misfits, Humans) and produced by Tom Sherry (Prey, Scott & Bailey, Ordinary Lies). Red founder, Nicola Shindler will be executive producer.

“The Prey format has proved hugely successful and we’re delighted Philip Glenister has agreed to feature with Rosie Cavaliero this series,” said Shindler.

“We’re grateful to Chris Lunt for writing and devising another compelling story.”

It will be shot in Manchester, Salford and Blackpool, with filming due to commence next month.
