Electric vehicle charge point management software leader Fuuse has appointed Simon Tate as chief revenue officer.

Tate is a respected member of the EV charging community, placing number 29 in GreenFleet’s 100 Most Influential of 2023. He joins the team from Mer, where he spearheaded rapid growth and helped guide the team to bring in clients such as Milk & More, FedEx, Asda and IKEA.

He began his EV journey as sales director at Elmtronics, where he helped drive the business forward to be one of the UK’s leading installers and to its eventual sale to Mer in 2021. Prior to that, he held key sales roles at Mercedes-Benz, Lombard, LeasePlan and Northgate.

Tate said: “This is a pivotal stage in the EV charging sector as the focus is rapidly shifting towards software and data. I’ve been watching Fuuse for some time, and what has always stood out is the relentless passion and drive to make charging simpler, fit for purpose and offer products and solutions that add real value.

“Whether it be for a CPO, a fleet or charging at work, Fuuse is just on it right now, and one thing is for certain: our future in shaping this industry is extremely exciting.”

Michael Gibson, CEO of Fuuse, added: “We’re delighted that Simon has joined Fuuse. His vast knowledge and experience of the EV and fleet markets, allied with his outstanding sales leadership skills, will enable Fuuse to rapidly build on its already considerable success. He also has experience successfully scaling a business in the EV sector as part of the leadership team at Elmtronics, which will be of huge value to me and the team.”

Fuuse has also made several other recent appointments to support its growth. Kayleigh Sheldon has on board as head of marketing from SWARCO; Rakhim Choudhury and Macauley Baker have joined Fuuse as technical support engineers from Pod Point; Ben O’Neill joins the project management team from Char.gy; Kurt Sanchez has started his role as business development manager having moved from charger manufacturer Wallbox, and Adam Morrissey joins the team from Clenergy EV.
