Animmersion UK and ViralEffect have come together to help national brands reach students during socially distanced Freshers’ Weeks.

The companies said that “one major franchise from the food sector” has already signed up to the programme, with many more “actively involved.”

The idea is to use Animmersion’s Virtual Interactive Events service to enable brands to produce an online, on demand virtual Freshers’ Fayre experience via computer, smart phone and tablets.

“This exciting collaboration demonstrates how local businesses can combine key strengths to address event challenges through digital innovation,” explained Samuel Harrison, Managing Director of Animmersion UK.

“We’re confident that this will enable national brands to continue supporting University events and provide students with an interactive and engaging experience.”

ViralEffect is a B2C digital marketing agency, with contracts for a number of UK food franchises, including Costa Coffee, Domino’s Pizza and Kaspa’s Desserts.

“We are a fresh thinking and creative company, and we are really excited to be working alongside Animmersion on this new immersive experience which will lead the way in virtual fresher’s events, giving us the opportunity longer term to expand into wider locations,” said James Pennington, CEO of ViralEffect.
