MEC Manchester has been appointed by Jet2 to handle its jet2.com and Jet2holidays accounts.
The contract, reportedly worth £11m, was awarded following a competitive pitch and means that Jet2 becomes the Manchester agency’s largest client.
“Following a rigorous pitch process that pushed the whole agency to its limits, I am delighted that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have decided to appoint MEC. This is our largest ever regional pitch win and I am proud that it demonstrates the agency’s capabilities in media, digital and search communications,” said Mick Style, managing director, MEC Manchester.
The contract started with immediate effect and MEC will be responsible for driving awareness and customer acquisition for both brands. This will be across all media, digital and paid search.
“MEC impressed us with its understanding of our proposition and commercial priorities. They provide marketing leading performance planning skills coupled with the level of thinking, service and buying skills required to drive future growth for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as we move into 2015,” added Gavin Forth, head of marketing at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
Jet2 operates out of Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle airports.
