HSBC issues rallying cries against Brexit uncertainty in Leeds and Manchester

HSBC

Bank HSBC has responded to uncertainty around Brexit by launching outdoor and press campaigns in Leeds and Manchester emphasising that the UK is “not an island”.

The new activity is intended to celebrate elements of British life that are the result of connections to the wider world and the rallying cries are aimed specifically at each city.

In Manchester, the copy reads: “You taught the world how to split the atom, make a chip barm and not look back in anger.” In Leeds, it says: “You’re cut from a different cloth. A mill town turned city of a thousand trades and still marching on together.”

The campaign was created by Wunderman Thompson and PHD is the media agency. Outdoor and press ads will run nationally until March. A “Global citizen” ad starring Ayoade will also return to TV this month.
