Manchester start-up Dotted has developed an app to enable pubs, bars and restaurants to get back to business safely.
Dotted was formed last year with the aim of providing innovative solutions and support to IT and software businesses. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the company to shift its focus and the result is an app allowing customers to view, order and pay for menu options completely contact free.
Yesterday the Prime Minister announced that pubs and restaurants could reopen on 4th July with certain social distancing measures in place.
“We realised very early on that the hospitality industry would need to really change the way they serve their customers once they could trade again,” said Dotted’s Azmat Sherwani.
“As an industry, pubs and bars are so tactile and personal, controlling the actions of customers upon reopening was always going to be a challenge, but we love a challenge and came up with these solutions to assist with the issues landlords and bar owners are going to face.
“We put this idea together to help businesses get set for life after Lockdown. We are excited to get back to socializing as much as the rest of the UK, especially now the weather is picking up, but we know there will be a huge change as to how we do it.
“For less than the price of a pint, business owners can safeguard everyone who steps through the door and have the benefit of knowing they have put the health and safety of their team and customers before a quick re-opening.”
