The MediaCityUK-based operation enjoyed its busiest ever day in the UK, with 9.2 million users to its website, 5.1m following the action via mobile and 647,000 accessing live coverage concurrently from Stamford Bridge – all records for UK traffic to BBC Sport.
The previous record, 8.9m, was set on the day of the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight in 2015.
A total of 11.7m viewed the website internationally yesterday, second only to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in 2015.
