Education technology firm Software2 has moved to a new headquarters in Leeds with plans to expand across Europe and North America.

The company’s AppsAnywhere solution is described as the world’s only dedicated education app store, used by over 1.5 million students in higher education establishments including the University of Michigan, University of St Andrews, Durham University and Imperial College London.

It has now moved to a new, larger base in Sherburn in Elmet, with enough room to expand its 30-strong workforce to 50.

Software2 is also forecasting turnover of £5.5m this year, up from its most recently reported figure of £2.6m in 2017.

Co-founder Nick Johnson said: “After nearly 10 years in business we’re thrilled to be opening our new HQ, just 10-minutes’ drive from where it all started back in 2009.

“It’s crucial in attracting the skilled workforce we need to be successful in the global higher education markets. And with so many great technology companies in nearby Leeds, it’s important we stay competitive in the marketplace for jobs and local talent.”

The company is looking to further growth in North America, with “more than 5,000 potential university and college customers in those markets”, Johnson added.
