Leeds agency scores Powerleague brief

Aberfield has picked up the national PR brief for football brand, Powerleague.

The Leeds agency has been brought in provide PR and communications support as it seeks to expand further across the UK.

It will deliver ongoing PR support, including regional and national media relations, to raise awareness of Powerleague’s new venues and drive footfall, including driving greater female participation.

A key part of the brief is support its launch into padel, with the brand hoping to become one of the UK’s leading operators in this space, following a £14m investment into UK town and city centre clubs.

“Powerleague is a household name and a key player in encouraging grassroots participation in sport,” said Tim Downs, director at Aberfield Communications.

“Having already kicked-off our work, we’re looking forward to supporting the business as it continues to grow and create new opportunities for more people across the UK experience the physical, mental and social benefits of football and padel.”

Powerleague, which was founded in Scotland in 1987, has become the world’s largest provider of commercial, small-sided football.
