Immersive VR company plans flotation

Manchester-based tech start-up Immotion Group, is planning to float on the Stock Exchange this summer.

The firm which acquired Studio Liddell in January, as well as LA creative movie maker, C2K, is expected to list on AIM in July.

It was founded by tech and media entrepreneurs Martin Higginson and David Marks to provide VR experiences to theme parks and shopping centres. In May it announced a tie in with Merlin Entertainments to create a Lego-themed VR experience at the Legoland Discovery Center in Boston.

The cash raised will be used to expand its business in the US and across Europe.

Reports suggest that the flotation will value the company at around £20m.

Previously Higginson has stated that “the best VR experiences will be out of home allowing you to engage all the senses to deliver something truly immersive.

“We’ve spent the last 12 months understanding the immersive reality market which has had $4 billion invested in it over the last two years. We have seen what is needed to deliver a great experience.”
